Is this golf's toughest Major venue?
It doesn't seem that long ago since Danny Willett was pulling on a certain Green Jacket, but here we are again, it's Major time. What lies in store? Well, it's not going to be a birdie fest, that's for sure.
Put simply, Oakmont is a brute - as you can discover for yourself below. The U.S. Open this weekend is a must-watch, especially if you like to see players work extra hard for their pars. This type of golf isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it does make a change to seeing winning totals around the -15 mark, as is often the case.
Here's a stat for you:
The entire field broke par just eight times during all four days in 2007

Nothing to lose but so much to gain...
Unless you've been under a rock somewhere, you will know that we are currently running a promotion on selected hardware in-store.
We really have got off to a flying start with several of you opting for a FREE fitting and FREE lesson with recent club purchases, rather than simply buying straight off the shelves. We can't stress enough how important it is that you don't do this, and there really is no excuse anymore with the services we offer in the shop.
Many people think that custom fitting will only benefit top-level players, when in-fact it will arguably have more of an impact for the ordinary club golfer
There really is no such thing as a 'standard club' anymore, as each person requires something slightly different - albeit extra length, a different lie or a stronger/weaker shaft. The FREE fitting element of this promotion will ensure that your new clubs are matched/suited to your game and swing, enabling you get the most out of the equipment. Follow this up with a FREE after-sales lesson and you will be striping the ball better than ever.
We know this sounds good, almost too good to be true, but you don't have long to take advantage of this offer - it ends on the 3rd July. So make sure you give yourself the best chance to play better golf in 2016 by treating yourself to some new clubs.
If you don't, who will?
