We hope you're well.
As we begin to close the doors on what has been a very cold February, it's time to look ahead with some optimism about what's to come. So, if there's anything golf-related that you'd like to discuss, we're always here to help. We appreciate your support!

We have a date! Kind of... |
We have a return date for golf in England as I am sure you are all well aware now. The Prime Minister announced this week that golf will return on March 29th. There was a meeting yesterday with the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Golf (APPG) which will determine exactly what facilities and services can resume upon March 29th. Things like coaching, custom fitting, driving ranges and retail were all up for debate. Once we have the outcome of these discussions then we will let everyone know how we will be moving forward at Alnmouth Golf Club. |
Shop News - Order, Collect & Pay!
|
With the return of golf now confirmed, we will be operating a "Click & Collect" service from the 29th of March should we not be allowed to open the shop as normal. This will be 3/4 days a week depending on demand. All items that we stock will be available for purchase, including balls, tees, gloves, caps, all clothing and equipment. Nearer the time once more is confirmed we will send out a link to book a collection slot. We will have all orders ready for collection and payment upon arrival. |

In a change to previous systems, we will be running an online lesson booking system. This will make it much easier to book in, especially out of shop hours and you will receive a reminder for all appointments. It will also help us in the shop reduce the phone calls we receive, freeing up more time to serve you quickly if you are in there. The number of no-shows in a particularly difficult and busy year last year was frustrating. Please if you cannot make it for whatever reason, let us know and more often than not we have a waiting list of people wanting to book in. Above all else, as we move to this we will try and have as few disruptions as possible, but we do expect some. Please bear with us while we get up to speed on it. We will still be able to take bookings over the phone for those who don't want to do it online, but we feel this will benefit the majority to book at your own convenience. We will send out a special email next week with a simple video to show you how the new system will work, and it will have a date when it goes live. If you don't receive marketing emails for us please check your settings in the subscription bit down at the bottom of the page. All those that have already contacted us will be contacted before the system goes live and get priority. If you want us to contact you before the system goes live please get in touch via email at david.mather@foremostgolf.com |
As we have a date now the greens staff have implemented a programme to prepare the course for our return. Work has already begun this week. The greens have all been cut and dressed, along with work on edging the bunkers. Work has also started on the club's rose garden area. Looking to utilise the space for some outdoor seating, the garden has already seen some work started and there will be more in the coming weeks. It is hoped that this will be finished before the restrictions lift on outdoor hospitality. More work will follow in the coming weeks and we will keep you up to date with it all along the way! |
How many hours have you spent hitting wedges in the back garden or around the house during the past 12 months? It can be fun, therapeutic and should help your game (if you’re doing it properly!). But you might be wondering why you’re not a short-game wizard after the last year or so. Perhaps, in this case, a worker can really blame their tools. |
| TaylorMade Hi-Toe Raw wedges | A return to golf is on the horizon, so we want to make sure you’re geared up with the right equipment to get off to a fast start. When it comes to your wedges, ensuring your grooves are still up to the task can get you closer to the flagstick, and they don’t come any better than TaylorMade’s full-face Hi-Toe Raw wedges.
|
| Hi-Toe's full-face grooves | Thick-thin engineering allows them to thin out the topline and redistribute weight for more precision, but it’s the radically-unique full-face scoring lines that has everybody talking: Grooves across the entire face. When you hit a high-lofted shot or play out the bunker, these grooves give you more contact and spin as the ball glides across the face. |
