The Legend of Lefty

Over the last couple of years, Phil Mickelson has been entertaining us on social media with his hilarious ‘Phireside with Phil’ stories, lessons on ‘hitting bombs’ and some tongue-in-cheek calf workouts. And then, of course, there’s the ongoing series of The Match; competing and joking around with fellow sportspeople. Couple all that with a pair of senior tour wins in 2020 and it’s a fantastic way to sail off into the sunset.

But, with his brother on the bag and fire (or phire, as Lefty would call it) in his belly, Mickelson proved to golfers everywhere that you can have fun and still achieve remarkable things. And, perhaps most notably, that you can do it all no matter your age. Nearing 51 years young, the fan-favorite became the oldest major winner ever at the PGA Championship.
