Are you using the correct putter?

We are offering a FREE putting assessment session available to all members. This 10 minute session will help to determine if you are using the correct type of putter and we will advise you on what you should be using! All of our putters are internet price matched and we stock putters from Scotty Cameron, Odyssey, TaylorMade and Lynx!

Eyes above the ball

Your putting will improve if your eyes are directly above the ball at address and thus directly over the line which you want the ball to start on.

This is something that very few amateur golfers actually do and most golfers' head position and eye position is actually behind the ball.

A quick and helpful tip which will help you get used to being in the right position is to stand alongside a wall at home with the toe of the putter touching the skirting board. From here take your putting stance and place your head against the wall. This will get your eyes directly over the ball and into the correct putting position. The pictures below show this.

Picture one is an incorrect putting stance where my eyes are behind the line of the putt, this will cause me to push and pull my putts. The second picture shows my head against the wall with my eyes directly above the ball. Try practicing your putting like this at home and you should see improvements on the course!
